Keylan

McCrimmon

Hey, My name is Keylan, and I am a recent graduate of Virginia Tech, where I earned a degree in Sports Media and Analytics with a minor in Sports Marketing. As someone who grew up in Chapel Hill, North Carolina with a deep passion for sports, I have always been drawn to careers that allow me to stay connected to the athletic world—and Virginia Tech’s comprehensive Sports Media program offered the perfect foundation to turn that passion into a profession.
Throughout my time at Virginia Tech, I gained valuable hands-on experience in various aspects of sports media, including broadcasting, live production, and behind-the-camera operations. Whether working in front of the camera as an on-air personality or assisting with technical elements in the production truck, I embraced every opportunity to develop my storytelling and media production skills.
In addition to my coursework, I developed a strong interest in sports photography. Capturing live action from the sidelines allowed me to express the energy, emotion, and momentum of each game through a visual lens. I especially enjoyed photographing Virginia Tech's Baseball and Softball teams, where I learned to creatively frame shots that bring the viewer closer to the excitement of the game.
Following graduation, I plan to relocate to Charlotte, North Carolina, with the goal of beginning a career in sports anchoring. At the same time, I am actively seeking opportunities to further develop my photography skills by contributing to a professional sports organization such as the Carolina Panthers, Charlotte Hornets, or Charlotte Knights. I am excited about the possibility of joining a team that values creativity, storytelling, and a passion for sports as much as I do.
